I have a 6x10 IFB circa 2002. Just recently I've been having problems with my Ultrapierce. It seems after pierce routine, ( which works fine), when it goes to cut, a small amount of air is being forced through the small tube from the pressure regulator on the Ultrapierce.
Whats happening is the air is forced into the cutting head, creating a very slight positive pressure, and making the abrasive clog. If I dismount the Ultrapierce head from the cutting head, and cap the tube on the head, it doesn't clog. When cutting, I can hear and feel air coming out of the Ultrapierce . I have replaced both components on the Ultrapierce.( Both air valves) dismantled the entire unit and cleaned it, still same problem. I'm stumped. Also not sure what my air pressure should be set at on the Ultrapierce in cut mode. 20lbs???
If your software/machine has the feature , then try doing this. Adjust the timing of the nozzle and relay settings , in such a way that the abrasives starts filling the nozzle before the waterjet starts..say, may be a 0.2 secs before..
