We've got a Mach 2 that was just installed in May. We primarily cut mild steel with an occasional stainless or UHMW. When the machine was new an up until about 80 to 100 hours ago the software cutting speed woudl easily cut our parts at 80% feed rate. Now we have to manually slow the feed rate down an addisional 20 to 30% or the parts don't complete cut through. I've even tryed imputting thinker materal into the computer to compensate. For 16 gauge material (0.0625") I program as 0.08" and for 11 gauge (0.125) I input 0.15". This works in some cases but still does not cut in others. The pump has less than 250 hours and we,ve tryed changing the oriface which helped some. The mixing tube has been replace a couple of times due to crashing (were new and still learning) but has been in it for around 100 hours.
Is the mixing tube worn and needing to be replaced?
Is the oriface bad?
Any ideas would be helpful.
Were cutting with 60,000 psi .007 oriface .035 mixing tube and a 0.7 lbs garnate rate
Just a follow up on this. We ended up changing the mixing tube and it helped a lot, but a few days later it was running badly again. This time we changed the orifice and WOW what a difference. Its running like new again.
I read your post after expeirenceing the same situation, maybe not to the degree you expeirenced . After changing the oriface and just doing a little routine maintance everything ran as it should. Only question i have is what to do with the oriface? I believe i can purchase a low cost cleaner from harbor frieght to clean it and use it as it was new. Thanks for the post i always get a little worried when something doesnt seem right. O yea we also lost a few mixing tubes when we started glad im not the only one. lol
