I'm trying to find ways to improve our part clamping process. Looking for ways to make the table setup a little faster. We currently use a treaded rod hooked to the bottom of the grate with a plate at the top that holds the part in place.
What do others do? Is there anybody that makes a clamping system designed for Waterjets?
Our waterjet is specifically used for R & D parts so clamping is always different. We mostly cut plate or sheet. Our best solution so far has been quick clamps normally used for wood working. We slide them between the slats and clamp the piece to the slat.
Our water jet bed is made out of steel bar. The grate ends up with about a 3 " opening between the bars. I did find a "Material Holding Kit" made by OMAX that looks promising. Of course we don't have an OMAX Table so the sizes do not match and some modification would be required.
