We are considering the purchase a waterjet.  We had a high definition plasma cutter in the past and it wasn't a good experience.  We think the waterjet is going to be more suitiable to our needs though.

We'd also like to start with a used machine simply due to budetary restrictions.

What pitfalls do we need to look for? Where would you recommend we start if we're in the market for a used machine?  If you were buying a used machine what would be the hotspots or trouble areas that would immediately make you walk away?

Hi,

If it was me looking to purchase a used machine, the first place i would start is by contacting the waterjet manufactures to find out if they sold used equipment or if they could recommend where to purchase from.

Look out for worn parts and make sure you get a warranty to cover any problems that may arise. Contact your choosen manufacturer and find out if your budget will cover an ex-demo or refurbished unit that will probably provide the best warranty.

Good Luck

Scott
