is there anyway to clean plugged nozzles? has anyone tried using an ultrasonic cleaner and had any luck?

I dont see how this part can get clogged in the first place as it only lets water through, and no abrasive.
If your orifice is clogged, you should probably test your water for impurities and minerals.
I dont have any experience with cleaning, but I would guess that a ultrasonic cleaner works.

If you're at a last case situation. I've installed the nozzle backwards to try and clean it out. Probably done it half a dozen times with maybe 50% success. I pull the garnet tube off the head to prevent water back flowing if the tip doesn't clear.

We've also installed the tube upside down, and pump up to 30,000 water only and hit it for a 1/2 second, they clear right out.
