Newbie with an Omax 2652 unit...1998 vintage. I purchased at a GM auction, put a new control PC in it. Recently finished installing, ready for test cutting - ran into some issues.
When I start to cut, the abrasive line from the hopper to the nozzle fills with water, clogs, sometimes blows off and abrasive from the hopper spills out into the water instead of getting siphoned into the mixing tube...
This happens constantly. Every 5-6 attempts it will cut the way it should, otherwise it just keeps blowing the line off...
What am I doing wrong? First thing I noticed was that the mixing chamber was slightly misaligned to the inlet hole....so I pressed it back out, then back in, but in the process I wrecked my nozzle (smashed the threads for the mixing tube nut) - should have supported it differently....so I am ordering a new one Monday...
Other than potentially being the mixing chamber being slightly misaligned, anything else that can cause the line to blow off? It's a real PITA, but its probably something stupid I am doing...
Thanks

If water creeps up the line during a traverse (most likely scenario), your on/off valve needs to be rebuilt. If that's not it, try adding about .5 seconds to your water off delay.
Good luck,
Tim

To add to TFabians reply I would check the orifice/nozzle/lbs-min garnet set up. If youre overloading the nozzle with too much garnet, too small of an orifice it may cause the nozzle to clog and back up/blow off the garnet line. Is this an in-line body? I have used alot of different types of heads and prefer the jet edge style the most.
