We use a water softener to condition our water, the only problem is that it forms rust on our part almost as fast as we can pull them out of the machine. We've had the softener and water checked and both are at the required levels. We've had our Mach 2 for about a year and had this problem from day 1. Most of the material we cut is A36 . Does anyone use pickled in oil (PO)?

We have the same issue. Our thinner steel (11 gauge and lighter) seems to be more prone to rust quickly. We do a lot of welding in house to and have started spaying a light coating of weld splatter solution on the sheet before we put them on the water jet. It seems to help a lot. The big problem is it does make the water in our tank cloudy.
