Hello all, I am working on a water jet for longer then a year now it˙s teen king (yeah it˙s chinese). Teen king wj is pretty god for work on it but the only problem is oil overheating it is heat to 92°C (pretty dangerous) when it˙s turned off by temperature alarm. It can only work for a 2-2.5 hour with no turning off the pump, my question is why. Can someone help??

Yes the oil level is good (I check for any leeking, and level) and the oil in hydraulic system is correct. But the water (for cutting) is not chilled before it enters intensifier. The cooling system look like this, the water for cooling goes trough pump into a heat exchanger and go back on top of the "cooling tower" and droping down (while it˙s droping it is cooled by a propeler). The outlet water is cold like there is no heat exchange done. Can the problem be in relief walve (incorect setup).
The system is clean, I clean it regulary. The water goes out normaly but it is cold. I will go mad on this one.

I have had that same problem with my machine, it turned out to be a hydraulic pump failure.
If the oil pressure is down, and the oil temperature is up, then oil is bypassing or bleeding through somewhere it shouldn't. It is possible the pressure relief valve for the hydraulics could be causing this.
If your hydraulic system has only a kidney-loop filter system then it is possible during a pump failure that the debris from a failing pump can be circulated throughout the hydraulic system and can cause catastrophic results. The contaminated oil can hinder the operation of the hydraulic compensator (regulator) valve. The result can cause the oil to go over pressure, and therefore increases the water pressure. This over pressure can cause bursting of hp tubing, and even hp cylinders.
You need to find where the heat is coming from, so on a cold startup can you feel what gets hot first?
Put a few drops of oil from your hydraulic tank on a white paper and look at it in sunlight. If you see anything other than oil then it would be best to call in a hydraulic expert.

Thanks all for reply, I˙ll will come back in a few day˙s after some testing of the machine. I belive theat the oil filter is clean. But the pump is first hot element, there is a hose on a pump theat is going back to the oil tank (directly from pump) bypassing the filter, cen the problem be there ??

The hose sounds like the case drain for the pump. The probability is an excess amount of oil bypassing the plates in the pump, which is indicative of hydraulic pump failure. Check a sample of oil from your hydraulic tank, place a few drops on some white paper and look at it in sunlight. If you see anythig other than oil you have a problem.
My perfect waterjet would have a temperature sensor on the case drain of the hydraulic pump, as this would give an indication of a problem emerging.

Hi Ivan,
It is Roger from Teenking Waterjet.
Sorry to know the overheating problem.
I think you have solved this problem. Water cooling has many problems and we now do not use this cooling method. At the begainning, water cooling is ok, but after long time, the cooling will be not good. It will effect by dusty.
My sugegstions is that you clear the cooling plate inside pump. and clean water tower, change oil, clear oil pipes.
